And suddenly, it isn't what it used to be. . .and after all this time, it works out just fine.

I keep this blog for sentimental reasons.  And that is it.

Isaiah 26:8

"In the path of your judgements, O LORD, we wait for you; Your name and rememberance are the desire of our soul."

This is the youth group verse for the summer.  These next few verses are something every Christian should remember.

Matthew 10:28

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  Rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Romans 8:38-39

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

If the rememberance of God's name is really our desire, then we should be sharing it.  If we are afraid to share it, we need to remember that the only thing anyone can ever do to us is kill us; they can't take away our salvation.  Philippians 1:21 says that spending eternity with Christ is far better than anything this life will ever offer.  What are we really afraid of?  Dying, or any other form of persecution, doesn't seem like something to be feared if we are really living for God.

Colossians 3:2

"Set  your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

1 Peter 2:9

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

". . . our desires [for God] - no matter how small - have been awakened by the spiritual taste we once had of the presence of God.  They are an evidence that we have tasted."  is a quote from John Piper in When I Don't Desire God: How To Fight For Joy.  Its a fantastic book!

2 Peter 1:3

"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence."
